Flat to Fabulous
Improve your skills in this fun, 3,4 or 5 day class. Add interest to your jewelry designs with surface texture, volume, and layers. Emphasis is placed on planning and finishing techniques in order to achieve a more professional look. You will learn easy soldering and riveting tips, how to incorporate found materials or beads, how to create a rich surface on copper and silver, and how to use commercial findings or make your own. Leave with several finished pieces including a brooch. This class is perfect for preparing to take the Drawing on Metal class. All levels welcome.
Drawing on Metal
Who doesn’t want to add a little color to their jewelry, or maybe your own patterns and images? This class focuses on my technique for drawing on metal with colored pencils. Learn to add color and excitement to your work with my special technique. In this 5 day class you should finish at least one pendant and several sample pieces. Fabrication techniques will be covered as time allows. All levels welcome.
5 days, 5 pieces, 10 techniques. Fast and fun, this class focuses on simple techniques that combine to create rich and interesting jewelry pieces. We begin with earrings and pendants and end with a brooch and maybe even a ring. You don’t have to be a master jeweler to make beautiful, wearable jewelry. Learn how to deal with those edges, where to place a pin back, how to add texture, and so much more. All levels welcome but should know how to saw, file, and solder if you really want to make 5 pieces.
3 Hour Taster Class
Learn a few simple techniques and make your own pendant or earrings. This is a great way to spend time with friends, celebrate a special occasion, or just try out a new craft. Gather a few friends and we will plan a class just for you.
